This experience includes a special visit to our Melipona beecheii beehives, also known as the “jicote bee,” and Mariola (Tetragonisca angustula) beehives, which we maintain for conservation and the enjoyment of our guests. These gentle, stingless bees are a rare treasure, producing honey with an uncommon flavor and potent antibiotic properties that have been used for medicinal purposes since the Mayan era. They offer a unique glimpse into the delicate balance of nature that we proudly protect.
Learn about our commitment to sustainability with a visit to one of our carbon offset plots. The entire project is nestled within 750 acres of natural and regenerating forest. These plots help naturally offset the carbon emissions produced by the hotel, contributing to our mission of achieving Carbon Neutrality Plus.
